“This presentation is the result of my curious eye responding to the unease and wonder that exist simultaneously,” explains Mark Gilmore. “These works are here to assist you in finding the freedom and revelations in bewilderment, to be beautiful mysteries that reveal themselves over time.”

Mark Gilmore is an American painter and sculptor. His work ranges from poetic contemporary realism to a saturated altered reality. Although the artist enjoys the challenge and variety of commissions, his own work is very personal. Gilmore has always been interested in expressing the otherness and mystery just underneath everyday life. Reacting to the ephemeral nature of life and mortality. All of his personal paintings are just different ways of expressing one moment, one feeling. “I’m describing a place I’ve never been with a language I’ve never spoken,” Gilmore remarks, “but I’ve spent my whole life trying to get there because it’s my home.”
